St Andrews is a fantastic destination for a dog-friendly holiday, with miles of coastline, beautiful walks and plenty of places where your dog can join in the fun.

One of the biggest attractions for dog owners is the incredible choice of beaches nearby.

West Sands is one of our favourite places for a walk. Stretching for almost two miles, there's plenty of space to explore, play and enjoy the fresh sea air. It's the perfect spot for an early morning walk or an evening stroll as the sun begins to set.

Tentsmuir Beach is another favourite and well worth the short drive from St Andrews. The combination of forest trails, sand dunes and a huge open beach makes it ideal for dogs who love to explore.

Elie Beach is another beautiful option and one we visit regularly when exploring the East Neuk. It's the perfect place for a leisurely walk before stopping for a coffee or lunch in the village.

If your dog enjoys longer walks, there are plenty of routes to explore around St Andrews and the surrounding area.

The Fife Coastal Path offers stunning sea views and plenty of opportunities to discover hidden coves, beaches and charming fishing villages along the way.

Tentsmuir Forest is also a great option, offering miles of woodland trails that are perfect for stretching both human and canine legs.

One of the best things about visiting St Andrews is that you don't have to leave your dog behind when stopping for a bite to eat.
